Taking each track and deconstructing them with great sensitivity and reverence to the original, the results not only equal the original songs, but in some instances best them. The production team of Nine Inch Nails associate Danny Loherer and Telefon Tel Aviv co-founder Joshua Eustis are quickly becoming the Neptunes of the industrial rock set, and their four remixes here further reinforce that notion. The second disc is a remix showcase of APC's most well-known songs and singles. Each song is painted as its own mini-movie, with the song acting as the narration. On their debut, Mer de Noms, A Perfect Circle were seen as an extension of the alt-metal-fused-with-art-rock style popularized by Tool in the early to mid-90s. The group has always paid special attention to its visual aesthetic, showcasing the story of the song rather than the predictable fare of a band performance. American rock supergroup A Perfect Circle was formed in the late 90s by Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan and former Tool guitar tech Billy Howerdel. The album is scheduled for release October 18th via Wake Up Music Group. A grand claim, perhaps, but there's little question that the addicting combination of Keenan's aching voice and Howerdel's accomplished songs and production skills made for one of 2000's best splashes in whatever was left of 'modern rock. The first disc is a DVD showcasing the complete videography of the group, which for most APC fans would be a must-have on its own. A Perfect Circle is one of those bands that nobody realized was needed until it happened. The supplementary release to the somewhat inconsistent Emotive is a treasure trove of delights.
